Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the RV cabinet door struts. These are going to allow you to hold your cabinet doors open while you're looking for something or putting things away and you need both hands, if you don't have a hand to hold the door open. So by installing these, it's going to make it much more convenient for you. The struts are made of a metal construction, so they're going to be very sturdy and reliable. Very sturdy there.
Comes with four mounting screws that are one inch long and four half inch mounting screws. When you're installing these, you don't want screws that are going to poke through your cabinet doors, obviously. So they give you two different sizes. You will need two on the bracket end here. You are going to have one that installs on the frame of your cabinet.Just one screw going in there.
You don't want that screw to be extra tight as it's going to be a pivot arm, as you're mounting this. So keep that in mind. You want to make sure that these screws are going to work for your setup. This does come with the two struts. In addition to the four screws, the struts measure about six inches long when your door is open.
It will compress down to five and a half inches when the door is closed. You have a stroke limit of one and one eighth of an inch. These do come with a lifetime warranty. So if you're needing some way to hold your cabinet door open, if you're tired of cabinets closing on you when you're trying to put up your storage, anything that you keep in those cabinets, these are going to be a great option for you to make sure that everything is there.We do have other options that are plastic if you prefer those. These really aren't that heavy, they're very lightweight.
So they shouldn't add much to the weight of your motor home or RV, but we do have the plastic ones available as well if you prefer those. As you can see, these kind of have like a antique brass finish in my mind. So if that's something that you enjoy, take that into consideration, but they're going to be inside your cabinet. RV cabinet door struts hold your cabinet doors open while you are looking for something or putting things away.Just what I needed. Instructions not adequate. Placement of the end of the outter cylinder had good detail but where to set the bracket against the door was inadequate. After one try I understood where to place the bracket and the opening and closing works well. Very good value. Nice antique bronze finish.
These were delivered quickly and are the perfect solution to keeping our overhead cabinet doors open. They were easy to install and work great. I have 2 cabinet doors about 10"x20" and put one of these on each door.
These little struts were just ticket for the small doors above the bed in our 22MLSWE Cougar. Cabinet space was useless without these struts. Needed something rather small, as the doors were only about 7 inches tall. These worked perfectly and solved our issue.

These are a little stiff at first but they are great for keeping our cabinet doors open in our RV.

worked as needed
Might work great with other camper cubbie cabinet doors but the interfered with our hinges when we held them up where they will be installed. I am havin to return them because the do not work for us. I am disappointed but we have determined that any strut will interfere with the hinge placement on the doors.

The RV cabinet door struts that you sent appear to be oem originals identical to the sruts in my Coachmen trailer. Also, made in Taiwan, and NOT mainland China, a huge plus. I'm a happy camper. Wish I had used these from the beginning. Easy to install and adjust. Only use one per opening. Fat out!
I ordered 4 of these for cubbard doors in my horse trailer. Only one worked properly. The others did not. Bent the hinge and caused a bow in the door. Not real pleased with this product.

I have gotten in contact with the manufacturer and they have stated that its hard to say what could have caused this kind of extreme bending, other than it takes a lot of force to bend those metal structs. In order for this kind of damage to occur would be that overtime, the pressure of the spring inside gets weaker over a years and years of use.
Product as discribed. It arrived in a speedy time. etrailer my RV go to store.

Happy camper even after a year of use.
Perfect…just what I needed.
Had an upper cabinet that came from the factory with a clasp to hold it shut, not a strut to hold it open. Worked perfectly.
These little buggers are strong. I built in place cabinets in a cargo trailer. Each door is 30" by 9" wood. They have a break over point so they hold the door open and keep it shut.
For those who have Cabinet Doors that "lift open" and Do not have doo struts, I highly recommend them. They are a life saver, allowing you to use both hands to put items away. Frankly, I could not believe they were not included in my camper from the start! Tom T

Working like a charm. Ever since they have been installed the cabinet doors open and close lime I wanted. The doors stay open until it’s time to close. Solid choice.
